Rob Mitchell, a Harvard graduate, is WBNW's "book guy." He is a freelance book reviewer and for many years wrote the "New Nonfiction" for the Boston Herald.  Rob also directs the Concord Festival of Authors, an annual two-week literary festival featuring talks, readings, discussions, by over forty participating authors, with events in Concord and Lowell; and is an active member of the board of the Boston Adult Literacy Fund.

Hosted by Rob Mitchell, Pages to People is a weekly author interview program featuring discussions with authors of newly published books. Often the writers are well known, celebrated writers such as Sebastian Junger, Louise Erdrich, Michael Pollan and Taylor Branch, on tour for their latest books. Some are newer authors, emerging young novelists with quality work that merits attention. Still others are perennially New England writers such as Tom Perrotta, Elinor Lipman, and James Carroll.

The books discussed on Pages to People include issue oriented nonfiction as well as contemporary fiction.  Recent topics have included Bob Dylan, same sex marriage, civil liberties in the age of terror, and the history of whaling in America.

The discussion is always brisk and comprehensive, providing the discerning listener access to a wide range of the latest books and ideas.
