Homeowners insurance provides three-pronged coverage. First, it covers damage to your home (the dwelling itself). Second, it provides coverage for your personal property, both on and off the premises. Third, it provides liability protection for damages caused by your negligence. By providing liability protection above and beyond the basic coverage that homeowners/renters and auto insurance policies offer, ULI can protect you against the catastrophic losses that can occur if you are sued.
