Elder Law Centers of New England
|
Todd E. Lutsky, graduated from the University of Toledo School
of Law in 1991 and obtained a Masters Degree in Taxation from the Boston
University School of Law in 1992. He joined the public sector as a tax
attorney with the international accounting firm of Price Waterhouse LLP. In
1994 he entered the private legal community to focus on sophisticated estate
planning and wealth transfer techniques.
In 1995 Mr. Lutsky joined Cushing
and Dolan, P.C., a law firm that was established in 1984 and
currently employs 24 attorneys. His initial concentration was in the
preparation of estate plans, including the use of revocable trusts,
irrevocable life insurance trusts and family limited partnerships, all used
as techniques to pass wealth, protect assets, maintain control over your
assets and reduce the estate tax burden. He expanded his practice to include
business planning through the use of cross purchase agreements, stock
redemption agreements, majority shareholder split dollar life insurance
agreements and Deferred Compensation agreements.
He has further expanded his practice to include tax and financial planning
for the elderly, which covers the ins and outs of obtaining governmental long
term care assistance, Medicaid planning and preservation of assets through
the use of fair hearings. Finally, he has resolved numerous tax controversy
cases by means of an offer in compromise, an installment agreement or by
obtaining an abatement of taxes and penalties, and has resolved responsible
person cases with regard to withholding tax liability.
He also provides his expertise as a regular guest expert on the talk radio
show entitled Money Matter$ in which he answers questions regarding
how to protect assets from the cost of long term care, Medicaid eligibility
issues, how to avoid probate and other tax and estate planning.
